What will the latest PURPA regulatory update mean for renewables?

FORBES | Consumers, environmentalists, and taxpayers should benefit for years from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, FERC, update of the rules under Order No. 872 for the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978, or PURPA.   


The deregulation of markets that began in the Ford administration carried on during the Carter years and gave rise to the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978, which began the process of deregulating natural gas markets, and PURPA, which laid the groundwork for opening up utility markets.
