Forget diamonds, the new conflict commodity is gold

From Africa to Australia, gold has been in the headlines for the wrong reason recently as smugglers rush to catch a price north of $1,700 an ounce and one of the world’s premier gold refineries gets named for allegedly processing “conflict gold.”
